Hi and welcome to my very first blog post! I have blogged in the past but wasn’t consistent with it so hopefully this time I can keep up with it.
Let me start by introducing myself.
My name is Sammy and I am the founder of The Blushing Diary Beauty Studio. I started my journey of entrepreneurship in May of 2020 and it has been the most rewarding and trying experience thus far- though I would never have it any other way. I decided to enter this industry because I have always had an interest in beauty and wanted to learn new skills (bonus: I get to make people feel more beautiful and confident about themselves!) I took the plunge because of my friend Zhea who I met initially when she did my brows back in 2018 (best investment ever!). She really inspired me to push further and discover this passion of mine.
I decided to learn lash extensions because I personally love my eyelashes and I love seeing the results of the work. To be honest, it isn’t as easy as people think it is. There’s so much to learn and I love how customizable they are to each individual.
Fun fact: Lash Lifts were supposed to be my first service and I actually have never gotten lash extensions prior to getting certified.
I tried them out for the first time in November and I am obsessed. It’s perfect for my lifestyle and I always get compliments AND I don’t scratch my eyes like crazy anymore! If you have never gotten your lashes done, this is your sign to! It’s life changing!
Aside from my small business, I am also a regional flight attendant and I have been flying since July 2018. I am still trying to find the balance between my business and flying, but hopefully I figure it out soon! My favourite destinations we fly to would be Halifax or anywhere in British Columbia. I love travelling, which is a huge part of why I am a flight attendant, but unfortunately due to the pandemic those plans are paused. When we are able to travel, I would love to visit Bali, Indonesia or anywhere in Asia!
As the title states, this is the start of something new- I wanted to transition my content and more personal pieces onto my website/blog and leave my social media (i.e Instagram) for my portfolio work.
In the future, expect more informational content pertaining to my small business and the occasional lifestyle/beauty content! I’m also open to any ideas if you would like me to elaborate more into a blog post. I’m thinking of setting a schedule to post on my blog at least 3x a month, but we’ll see- I don’t want to force anything :)
